My future in-laws introduced my fiance and I to FPU and it was by far the most life-changing course we have ever taken. I had been paying credit cards since I was 18 (I’m now 26), and my fiance had always believed that he works so hard for his money, why not enjoy it?!
We had both been paying down our debt prior to taking Dave Ramsey’s course, but FPU gave us a different outlook on finances. Although we were already following some of the guidelines, it made us think of different ways of doing things.
I’m happy to report that I just completed baby step #2, and my fiance’s spending habits have changed completely! We’re getting married in October of this year and are able to pay cash for our wedding due to our “live like no one else” attitude and gazelle-like strides. We also feel as though we will be prepared when it comes time for us to buy a house.
